     Barnett Philip Larimore was born on 9 March 1867 at Hart County, Kentucky, son of Bosley Houston Larimore and Malinda Catherine Bowles.
     He moved with his parents and brother and sisters in a covered wagon to Johnston County, TX in 1874 and then in January 1878 the family moved to Young County, TX. When the family moved to Young County, Bosley Houston purchased land four miles north of the present town of Newcastle. He and his sons picked up bones off the prairie and hauled them to Wichita Falls to be used as fertilizer to help pay for the land. Purchase price of the land was $1.50 per acre..
