At age 29, William married Ora Pearl Comer . William and Ora were married in April 1920 at Syracuse, Kansas; Jill Larremore, their great granddaughter, wrote: William Terrell was an engineer for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Line. Ora Pearl Comer was a telegraph operator for the same line in Syracuse, Kansas when they met. The story goes that he was walking backwards on the roofs of the cars as the train rolled slowly through the station. part of his job was to inspect the car couplings whenever the train made a stop, and walking the roofs was the best view. but instead of looking down at the couplings, he was looking into the station at the cute telegraph operator. and since he wasn't paying attention, he stepped right into an open-topped coal car. and that's how my grandparents met.
William Terrell Larremore died on 1 January 1964 at Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, at age 72. He was buried at Ft. Bliss Cemetery, El Paso, El Paso County, Texas.
