Lily May Larremore was born on 10 May 1898 at Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona. She was the ninth and youngest child of Sarah Jane Milne and Lebbius Thaddeus Larremore of Yeager Canyon. She went to school in McCabe and Humboldt.
At age 18, Lily married Luther Frank Wilson . Luther and Lily were married on Friday, 26 January 1917 at Humboldt, Yavapai County, Arizona. Luther owned the Blue Bell Mine at Mayer and operated a stage line.
In the book Echoes of the Past, May told the story of her first and only visit to San Francisco on her honey moon with a great deal of amusement. Frank's first love had always been pursuing any leads of interest in mining. Upon depositing his bride in a room at the Palace Hotel, he excused himself to go for a cigar. Many hours later, full of knowledge he had gained from a long conversation with a new-found friend in the mining game, spirits they had imbibed, and smoking a big black cigar, he presented himself to May the next day. All of their forty-six years found them deeply devoted to each other. Many times they spoke of returning for their second honeymoon, but the years went by too quickly for this dream to be fulfilled.
May and Luther had three daughters: Mrs. Yvonne Howington Morgan, Lorraine (Mrs. Frank) Vallely, and Wyona (Mrs. Kent) Larrell. May was employed by the telephone company in Humboldt, and lived at 107 Grace Avenue. She was a Christian Scientist. Her sister, Mary Elizabeth Lange, and her sister-in-law, Stella Fowler, are also represented in the Rose Garden.
