Esleta Violet1 Larremore also went by the name of Vi. Esleta Violet Larremore was born on March 19, 1920 in Stinnett, Texas, daughter of John Martin Larremore and Annie Belle Jennings. At age 19, Esleta married Fred Scheffer. Fred and Esleta were married on Saturday August 5, 1939. Esleta married Tony Martinelli. Toni Martinelli was running from the Mafia, so they went by the name of Nirdi. We do not know if this was a legal name change. This may have something to do with Vi having 2 Social Security Numbers. Esleta Violet Larremore and Tony Martinelli were the owners of Miners Home Bar in Rocksprings, Wyoming. Esleta married John Edgar George. Esleta Violet Larremore died on April 23, 1992 in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington, at age 72. Esleta died from cardiac arrest at her home. Her obituary, dated May 11, 1992, reads: VIOLET L. GEORGE Violet L. George, a private investigator, died of cardiac arrest Thursday, April 23, at her Vancouver, Washington home. She was 72. Mrs. George was born March 19, 1920 in Stinnett, Texas. She had lived in Vancouver since 1967, last at 1605-A Date St. She worked for Pacific Investigators Inc. Survivors include two brothers, Ted Larremore of Park City, Utah, and Larry Larremore of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a special friend Bettye Ellis. At Mrs. George's request there will be no service. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Park. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. She was buried in Memory Memorial Park, Vancouver, Washington. 2. John Martin2 Larremore was also known as Martin. John Martin Larremore was born on January 18, 1874 in Pecos, Reeves, Texas, son of Judge George Washington Larremore and Rachel Adeline Fanning. At age 27, John married Annie Belle Jennings, daughter of John Perry Jennings and Sena Ann Windham. John and Annie were married on Tuesday July 16, 1901 in McMillan, Eddy County, New Mexico; In the EARLY MARRIAGES OF EDDY COUNTY, their wedding announcement read as follows: JOHN MARTIN LARREMORE of McMillan, age 26, to ANNIBELLE JENNINGS of McMillan, age 18 years, were married 16 July 1901 by Byron J. Field, J.P. WITNESS: Millie S. Field. Book 1-A, page 106. He and Annie Belle Jennings seperated circa 1937. Per Larry Larremore, Aneabel moved back to NM without John Martin. John Martin Larremore died on October 25, 1955 in Lander, Wyoming, at age 81. He was buried in Oddfellow's Cemetery, Lander, Wyoming. A letter written to John Martin Larremore's sister, Dora Etta Larremore Bass, by his daughter, Easter Larremore Macey, from Lander, Wyoming, dated, November 10, 1955, reads as follows: Dearest Aunt Dora, I am so ashamed of myself for not writing sooner, but can't seem to get caught up with the things I should do, but I will try to explain about my father. Tom and I, with the aid of a very small benefit insurance from his lodge (only $140.00) put him away as nice as we possibly could. He had a very nice casket, and he was buried in the Oddfellow's Cemetery, which is as plot reserved in our cemetery. We had no church services, as my father was down on all ministers and churches, but he had Oddfellow services, which is what he would have wanted. Please don't grieve over him, as it is better this way. We could not help him, as he would not let us, and had he lived, something tragic would have happened to him. He had gotten to the point where he would have been PUT AWAY, as the sheriff couldn't even handle him, and I feel nothing but relief that things happened as they did. Please rest assured that he was never abused by anyone, as the doctors would use some kind of sedation to quiet him. I am not telling you this to hurt you, but if you feel the way I do, I'm sure that you can see how much better off he is. I think liquor is the most devilish thing on this earth, and it ruins everything and everyone it comes in contact with. We have no use for it in this house. I hope that you don't think that I am too narrow, but I just can't see why anyone can tolerate liquor, and constant drinking. I had a sweet letter from Mrs. W.E. Hellyer, and just as soon as I can find the time for another letter, I will write to her. My oldest son is in the service and my next son left the 8th for induction. I have my twelve year old left at home, and we are such a close family, that I'm just lost without my boys. Well, I am going to have to close and get breakfast, as it is nearly getting up time for my family. I get up at five nearly every day. Write to me when you can as I surely enjoy your letters. I'll try to write again soon, but I just feel kind of blue and let down at the present time, and can't think very clearly. Please believe that we did the very best that we could about my father(John Martin Larremore), and none of the family need be worried, as he was buried decently. I hope this letter finds you well, and please give my regards to your family. Love, Easter. 3. Annie Belle2 Jennings was also known as Aneabel. Annie Belle Jennings was born on October 19, 1885 in Brownwood, Texas, daughter of John Perry Jennings and Sena Ann Windham. At age 15, Annie married John Martin Larremore, son of Judge George Washington Larremore and Rachel Adeline Fanning. She and John Martin Larremore seperated circa 1937. Per Larry Larremore, Aneabel moved back to NM without John Martin. Annie Belle Jennings had a Restraunt and a small Grocery Store circa 1939 in Newkirk, New Mexico. The property they owned had a huge mesa with lots of trees at the top of the Mesa. When the family needed firewood, they would climb to the top of the mesa to cut down the trees. Then they would send the trees down this large rope to the base of the mesa. At the other end of the rope was a huge boulder. The wood would hit the boulder, and reduce, if not eliminate, chopping the firewood. Circa 1943 Annie Belle Jennings moved to in 205 N. Frazier Ave., Anabelle Laramour, Florence, Colorado. Annie Belle Jennings died on December 13, 1948 at age 63 She was living in New Castle, Wyoming with sons Ted and Larry at the time of her death. She died on the way to the hospital in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She was buried in Memorial Park, Tucumcari, Quay, New Mexico. Per Larimer Fanning Larremore, Annie Belle raised all of her grandchildren, except Easter's children. Judge George Washington Larremore was born on January 20, 1840 in Washington, Arkansas, son of John Larremore and Amanda Elizabeth Conway. At age 26, George married Rachel Adeline Fanning, daughter of George Wesley Fanning and Mary More McDonald. George and Rachel were married on Wednesday July 4, 1866 in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas. George was a Texas Ranger and a Commanche Indian scout for the Confederate Army of Texas. He served in the Frontier Forces from 1870 to 1871, and the Frontier Battalion between 1874 and 1898. On June 3, 1878 he bought 76 acres from his brother-in-law, Joseph T. Fanning. He did the surveying of these tracts of land which was accepted by the County authorities. When George brought his family by wagon train in 1880 to what was later called Seven Rivers, it was a true wilderness. The wagon train arrived September 22, 1880 and included the families of Joe Fanning, Joe Woods, Will Nelson, Marion Burleson, Ed Peril, Dick Turknett, Howard Henderson, Levi Watson, and Charlie and Buster Gambel. These were the original settlers of the area and many are included as family in this tree. By 1884, more pioneers arrived by wagon train and the area now known as Seven Rivers became a small wild west cow town. This wild town soon attracted many outlaws; Billy the Kid (alias, William H. Bonney, Henry McCarty, and Kid Antrim) being one who frequently visited the Larremore's of this area. Another famous outlaw of the time was Clay Allison. Instead of dying in a gun battle like most gunslingers, he died while he was with our Judge George. Quoting an article found on angelfire, "Clay Allison fell off Geo. Larrimore's wagon and was killed..." He had gone to the town of Pecos, Texas, for some supplies. Apparently, a grain sack had begun to slide from the wagon, and when Allison reached for it, he lost his balance, fell, and one of the wheels passed over his neck, breaking it and killing him." The entire Clay Allison story can be found at http://www.angelfire.com/apes/westlegends/Allison.htm . Judge George Washington Larremore died on June 13, 1909 in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 69. He was buried in Carlsbad Cemetery - Odd Fellows, Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico. He The front page of the CARLSBAD ARGUS dated June 18, 1909 reads: DEATH OF GEORGE W. LARREMORE Judge George W. Larremore died at his home, in the northwest part of the city, last Saturday evening, of cancer, and was buried Sunday afternoon, in the City cemetery. 'Uncle George,' as he was familiarly known to the majority of the citizens of Carlsbad, was one of the oldest citizens in this part of the valley and had until the past few months, enjoyed robust health. He was born in Arkansas, sixty-nine years ago, and removed from there to Texas in the early forties. In 1880 he became imbued with the western spirit and migrated to the Pecos Valley, settling on a tract of land in the Seven River country, about twenty miles northwest of Carlsbad, which is still known as the 'old Larremore place.' About six years ago he moved to a farm near Malaga, where he continued to live until this past winter, when , on account of his failing health, he came to Carlsbad to receive medical attention. Last year, he announced himself a candidate for probate judge of Eddy county and his popularity with his home people was most graciously shown by the large majority which was given him when the votes were counted, which was the largest majority ever given a candidate for any office in Eddy county. Last October, cancer of the face developed and he immediately sought treatment, but with no avail. It stubbornly refused to yield to the most rigorous treatment, and early this spring he underwent an operation which it was thought would check if not cure the trouble, but such was not the case, and last Saturday night it claimed him for its victim. The decased leaves a wife and four children to mourn his death. They are Mrs. George W. Larremore, his wife; Mrs. Alice Hillyer, C. W. Larremore, J. M. Larremore and Mrs. Dora Bass all of whom were at his bedside when the end came. The funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon, from his late home, conducted by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of which he was a member. The remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows' reserve, in the City cemetery. 5. Rachel Adeline3 Fanning was also known as Aunt Ad. She also went by the name of Ade.
